Kyra Sachs (artist and anthropologist) has conducted a wonderful study commissioned by the Friends Lottery Fund on the importance of friction and failure within social art practices.

With this research, she is not only gifting us with the visualisation of this year’s theme Fire: Fuel For Change, but illustrates telling examples of how HMK, as a social art practice, contributes to strengthening communities and creating space for the not-yet-known.
