You can only submit your application through the link that leads to a form where you can answer the questions and upload the requested documents in 1 single PDF. Applications submitted by email, post or otherwise will not be accepted. In the upload section only single PDF files will be accepted. The PDF should not exceed 12 MB.
We ask you to include 3 documents in 1 single PDF with a total maximum of 10 pages :
1. Portfolio
- You can include images, links to audio or video projects not older than 5 years.
2. Sketch
- A preliminary sketch of the proposed project.
3. CV
- Your artistic CV with relevant experience. -
We work with a strict deadline. Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions to the deadline.

No, since the residency includes site-specific research and a specific theme (the intersections of colonialism and climate change), your application must state clearly which residency route you are applying for. Your motivation should provide a clear explanation of why you have chosen a specific route, taking into account the starting and ending locations.

Yes, Residency #1 has a break in July and August 2027 and Residency #2 has a break in December 2027 and January 2028. During this time the programme does not provide housing or other facilities.

We are a committee of 12 jury members from the different partners that are working together on this project. Your applications will be reviewed by multiple members of the jury. In the last phases of the application process everyone considers your application.

Before 3 June 2026 you will hear if you have made it to the last round of interviews that will take place on 9 June 2026.

Shortly after the day of the interviews on 9 June 2026, you will hear if you have been selected as the final resident.

Yes, you will receive an email informing you whether or not your application has been accepted. Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to give you individual feedback on your project or application.
Eligibility

You have to be legally registered in a country part of the European Union. Your country of origin does not affect your eligibility for the residency program. Your staying permit or passport is leading.

The organisation of the project is set up for one person per residency, including accommodation, transport and artist fee. If you wish to apply as a collective, it is your responsibility to arrange any additional matters and the artist fee will have to be shared. We are happy to think along once you have been selected.

The residencies venues mostly take place in Medieval buildings that are still in the process of being adapted to be more accessible. Unfortunately at the moment they are not easily accessible for everyone. We will do our best to meet any special needs.

Due to the characteristics of the residency, not all venues are equally child-friendly. However, we are happy to think along with you once you have been selected.
Family

All data will be handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). All data on candidates will be deleted within three months after the last contact.
Privacy

We have an international committee of jury members where although non of us has English as their mothertongue, it is the shared language we use to communicate hence we ask the proposal to be in English. However you will not be judged on your level of English.

There is a fee of €16.800 and a production budget of €3.000 including taxes. There is also a travel budget and accommodation provided. We do not cover visa expenses, food expenses or other expenses.
Financial

We encourage travelling by train where possible, especially within Europe. Nevertheless, we believe that the sharing of cross-border knowledge and experience through the artists' practice counterbalances the environmental effects of the travel that will be undertaken
