During the open workshop sessions, we invite you to participate in the creation of Hoorn’s segment of the monumental tapestry.

The project isn’t just about textiles and art, but also about coming together and having conversations. Traditionally, tapestries have been a way to depict and preserve stories.

As you work together, space is created to reflect on questions that remain relevant today: What traces of the history of slavery are visible in Hoorn and North Holland? How does that history continue to influence the present? By working on the tapestry, the stories are also made literally visible.
