In October the artist's collective SOMETHING HAPTICare the guests at Hotel Mariakapel. The collective was founded in 2001 and is based in Glasgow. Something Haptic engages in a multi-disciplinary practice, incorporating gallery and public works, site-specific pieces and curation. Through their publishing house, TRAJECTORY, the collective has curated and published the work of a growing number of other artists and writers. The group acts to advance an intelligent critical space within current contemporary practice.

Something Haptic members currently in Hotel Mariakapel are Becky Sik, Ruth Barker, Stephanie Connelly, Niall Macdonald and new members Ewan Richardson and Kevin Malcolm. Their work period in Hotel Mariakapel has lead to the construction of a giant ferris wheel, too large to fit the not so small Maria chapel (which is 9x18m.) The work is, in their own words, the melancholy failure of grand ideals.
