2010 The Catalysts´ Agenda
We like to think of Hotel MariaKapel as a catalyst for a broad range of artistic processes within the field of fine art. We are a small and flexible organization, able to provide artists from around the world with the rare opportunity to form long-term and focused collaborations with each other and their environment. This year we would like to make even better use of the rich potential this generates. In order to do so, we have considerably extended the average duration of a residency. Also, after having discovered by chance just how enriching this can be, residencies will overlap more often. For the first time, we will also be providing space for work on two research proposals as an interesting and meaningful addition to the chapel’s programming. The Catalysts’ Agenda is a program in which each of the projects expresses a distinct position or approach. It emphasizes the dynamic lab-function of HMK and gives a kaleidoscopic view of the practices of contemporary fine art.
